Deb Sougey has over 27 years experience in accounting and financial reporting in the manufacturing, executive search, medical device manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and mortgage banking industries. She tackles accounting and finance responsibilities with precision and a creative and proactive approach to problem solving within generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
In her most recent role in the mortgage banking space, she performed detailed analysis of general ledger activities for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness making recommendations for corrective action. Deb also assisted with the company’s long-term goals to enhance internal controls and document procedures.
Deb’s background also includes work in the healthcare industry where she oversaw budgeting, forecasting, and spending activities of 35 cost centers with total budgets of $50M. She also excelled as a financial leader who developed forecasts and annual operating plans for global marketing, supply chain, and facilities management.
At the early stages of her career, Deb honed her accounting and financial reporting skills while working for a $6M medical device research company engaged in the development and commercialization of products for the non-invasive diagnosis of cardiac disease. In addition, she developed operational skills assisting project and budget managers using monthly financial reports and monitoring spending activities to ensure adherence to budget guidelines. Deb’s ability to apply focused approaches to problem solving and establish exceptional relationships sets her up to offer her clients many opportunities to grow.
